Prayer Services TAIZÉ PRAYER: First Wednesday of each month at A meditative experience of sung chants, silence and readings that is the perfect way to take time to be with God. "Simple chants, repeated over and over again, underscore the meditative quality of Taizé prayer ... they express a basic truth ... which gradually penetrates the whole person. In this way they lead to that silence which forms the very heart of common prayer."

A Sampling of Past Programs Jesus Christ and the New Universe Story Our expanding understanding of creation demands new ways of thinking and speaking about God. This day of theological reflection includes such topics as the development of theology and Christology, the role of language, and the new reality of "The Universe Story" and its implication for changes in theological expression. Sabbath Days Seasonal events which afford a day out of time, a day when regular activity ceases. Sabbath (Hebrew Shabbat, from shavat, "cease" or "desist") means a day of holiness and rest, a time to pay attention to our soul's need. Each Sabbath has a theme which is explored in sessions devoted to prayer, spirituality, personal growth and creative expression. Write a Distinctive, Creative, Ethical Will Many of us have prepared Advanced Medical Directives as well as legal wills. An ethical will, or testament of wisdom, allows us to state the moral and spiritual values we want to pass on to our heirs to guide them on their way. In this session you will complete a personalized draft of your unique spiritual legacy. Prayer: God's Call to Us, through Us and with Us Prayer is a central part of our faith and yet one that often is a stumbling block for us. Five sessions explore how God calls us to prayer and how we might answer. |
